The Wake-UPÂ Call
In the Fall of 2011, I was at the very pinnacle of my career.Â
I was a global account manager for a large travel corporation with properties all over the world. It was multi-lingual, multi-currency, multi-time zone, the works.
One crisp sunny afternoon, my boss invited me into his office. He had HR on the phone. I was being terminated.
But don’t feel sorry for me. It turned out to be an incredible gift; one that allowed me to turn inward and discover what I was made of.
That spark of initiative—that wake-up call—became the genesis of my coaching career. What an incredible journey.
Would I do anything differently? Absolutely not!
That jolt was exactly what this cocky account manager needed. I realized and proclaimed that I would never be 100% reliant upon traditional employment…ever again.
